Emak joins the eFuel Alliance and takes its place among the most climate-conscious companies

Emak has joined the eFuel Alliance, an initiative representing more than 170 companies, associations and organizations worldwide committed to promoting the political and social acceptance of eFuels as an alternative to conventional fuels in order to help reduce CO2 emissions. Another step forward in the sustainability strategy adopted by Emak, which has been included in the “2024 Most Climate-Conscious Companies” ranking, prepared by Statista and media partner Corriere della Sera – Pianeta 2030.

Bagnolo in Piano (RE), 13 February 2024 – Emak, European leader in the production and sale of machines for gardening and the forestry sector, joins the eFuel Alliance interest group, which combines more than 170 companies, associations, and organizations in 17 countries worldwide, in order to promote the renewable fuels market representing the entire value chain of eFuels, raising awareness and favouring the political and social acceptance of hydrogen and climate-neutral fuels (e-fuels) as an alternative to conventional fuels to achieve a change in the regulatory framework, thus assisting the reduction of CO2 emissions in a decisive and cost effective manner, up the point of climate neutrality.

We joined the eFuel Alliance due to our conviction that eFuels offer a global solution to the universal challenge of climate change because, since they are made from renewable sources, vehicles, plant and machinery can be used today and in the future in a climate-neutral manner all over the world.” – explained Emak CEO Luigi Bartoli. – “As manufacturers of gardening, forestry and agricultural equipment, for many years we have been offering a line of tools powered by lithium batteries, which produce zero direct emissions of CO2 or other greenhouse gases or particulate matter, and we are planning to unveil our new professional line of battery-powered tools this year. In parallel, eFuels will allow us to provide customers who prefer IC engine tools with an alternative sustainable fuel that produces exactly the same performance in a more eco-friendly manner. “In this context” – concludes the Emak CEO – “we have already embarked on a series of analytical studies and numerical simulations in collaboration with local Universities, to be followed by testing on our machines, with the aim of making the entire range 100% eFuel compatible by the end of 2025”.

Joining the eFuel Alliance is another step in the sustainability strategy adopted by Emak, which was included in the “2024 Most Climate-Conscious Companies” prepared by Statista and media partner Corriere della Sera – Pianeta 2030. The ranking brings together the Italian companies that achieved the greatest reduction of the ratio between CO2 emissions and sales. The Emak Group recorded a compound annual reduction rate (CARR) of 17.416% between 2020 and 2022.

Actions taken by Group member companies to reduce their climate impact included several initiatives that are currently in progress and planned to continue in future years: product development conducted with the aim of reducing environmentally harmful emissions and conserving water resources, a switch to ecologically sustainable packaging, and optimization of transport efficiency, with a car policy that is increasingly focused on reducing the environmental impact of the company fleet.
